The Winter Solstice is unique among days of the year - the time of the longest night and the shortest day. The dark triumphs but only briefly. For the Winter Solstice is also a turning point. After the Winter Solstice, the nights grow shorter and the days grow longer, the dark wanes and the Sun waxes in power.
The Winter Solstice has been celebrated by many cultures over the millennia. Today, the Solstice is celebrated by cyclists (in Bowling Green, anyway), as the turning point toward another cycling season.
This year’s party will be at the home of Kevin and Cecilia Thomas. If you are a BGLOB member, you should have received an invitation via Evite.com. If you didn’t receive your invitation, please contact Susan Ammons
