For the past few years, Meredith Johnson has led us on a ride to his old hometown of Adairville, for their Annual Strawberry Festival. Meredith has decided to ride his bike across the country instead this year (go Meredith!) but we are still planning to ride to Adairville.
We will leave Basil Griffin Park at 9:00am and take a leisurely cruise to Adairville, where we eat lunch on the square. There are many vendors that sell BBQ and such. And, the highlight of the meal is your choice of strawberry ice cream and / or strawberry shortcake! In keeping with his father’s tradition, Meredith has given each of us $2 bills to spend on our tasty treat. Meredith is going to give me some $2 bills that came from his father’s stash and I will be glad to pass those out to anyone that cares to ride with us (first come, first served!).
The total ride distance is 81 miles, and although long, the route is flat. We will go out through Middleton and come back through Franklin.
You can find a route map on bikely.com or download one in PDF format.

’tis indeed a good time, good eats on the Adairville square, and the ride there is really fine. This year, with the plentiful rain, it should really be a good one.
oh… and the free thing is really good
